So, just over a year after its full launch, Star Wars: Uprising is going the way of Disney Infinity and getting shut down…it’s a little sad, even in this Star Wars-rich era, to see anything Star Wars-related get canned, especially after such a short run, but, at the same time, I’m a fairly huge Star Wars fan that tries to be involved with anything and everything Star Wars and I didn’t even play this game through…and if hardcore fans fall off the wagon, there has to be some kind of stellar hook to keep casual fans and/or gamers interested…unfortunately, Uprising just didn’t have that…for more on the quelling of the Uprising, we go to special gaming correspondent me, me:
Alright, I’m back in the driver’s seat, bringing you the Star Wars content you so desperately desire! Okay, I know, “bringing you the Star Wars content you didn’t know existed” is more accurate, but let me pretend, dammit…anyway, with the premiere of season 3 of Star Wars Rebels just a week from tomorrow, I decided to make a quick wishlist of three things I’d like to see happen over the course of the season (three things in season 3, get it?). If the ysalamiri wasn’t already out of the bag, I’d probably list seeing Thrawn (or, more likely, Director Krennic since I thought he was the de facto Thrawn for the new canon), but since they dropped that bomb on us at Celebration I had to think a little more outside the box…or something…so, pull up a chair, sit back and relax and let’s see if you want to see what I want to see…
Okay, let me start by apologizing to my regular readers (i.e. nobody) for taking two weeks off from my Friday post…I’m sure you’ve been adrift in a sea of sadness and confusion, but life handed me some lemons and I don’t like lemonade so I had to come up with other ways to deal with them and it, unfortunately, meant stealing from writing time…now, with that out of the way, let’s move on to comics! This was, by a wide margin, the best book in the retelling of The Force Awakens so far; if I’d been turning actual pages and not simply swiping across my Kindle Fire, I’d have done serious damage to the book’s mint condition status…it was a first-class page-turner with so much going on…for the purposes of this post, though, I’m going to concentrate solely on the section about Rey’s vision because, like I’ve said before, we all know how the story goes…
It’s Wednesday once again, ladies and gentlemen, and this week we got another installment of the Poe Dameron series (which I may or may not have referred to as a miniseries previously, because I thought it was, but it’s not…sorry for any confusion). This issue turns the action up to 11 as the “Lockdown” story line wraps up, and the series appears to be headed for deeper, darker waters…overall, a very good read, and easily one of, if not the, best books in the series so far…so let’s talk about it!
