JJ Abrams gave away crucial information to a question a multitude of Star Wars fans have been asking for such a long time. While speaking at New York’s Tribeca Film Festival on Friday night the director of Star Wars The Force Awakens stated that the parents of Rey were not in the movie which came with a multitude of speculation about whose heir she actually is.
“Rey’s parents are not in Episode VII,” Abrams said to the audience. “So I can’t possibly at this moment tell you who they are.”
So it was safe to assume that Luke Skywalker may after all be a teacher a leader and a possible guide to discover her past, as well as excel her use in the force. It was reasonable to consider that before the Skywalker legacy there were other tales of Jedi knights saving the universe. This new generation passes on the baton to future potentials gifted with the force to take us into the future. for we know the force binds us and is perpetuated throughout all living things and we never know whom will have the power and use it next.
We then received the following update …
According to Entertainment Weekly, J.J. Abrams clarified his earlier comments, saying, “What I meant was that she doesn’t discover them in Episode VII. Not that they may not already be in her world.” But what does that mean? Back to the conspiracy theory drawing board!
All I know is whatever pathway we have ahead to discover and to embrace it will forever be an interesting tale and mesmerize and captivate us hopefully throughout the ages.
We will continue to follow this story as it unfolds and keep TGR fans up to date!
